Meet Dr. Carl

           Dr. Carl Leiner is a native from Botetourt County who attended Lord Botetourt High School playing in the Cavalier marching band. While in high school, Dr. Carl shadowed several dental practitioners who inspired him to become involved with volunteering his time to the Rescue Mission of Roanoke. Prior to dental school, he volunteered in several Mission of Mercy projects throughout rural regions of Virginia that provided dentistry to patients without dental homes. Within dental school, he traveled abroad to Jamaica and Belize to provide care to children and adults who do not have access to dental clinics. After dental school he completed a General Practice Residency in his hometown of Roanoke, where he treated several hospitalized patients struggling with trauma, addiction, homelessness, and drug overdose.

          Creating special bonds with others gives Dr. Carl such fulfillment and commitment to the communities he serves. His passion is not limited to dentistry procedures, but extends into gaining trust from people he is honored to call his patients. As a member of The Roanoke Dental Society and the Virginia Dental Association Foundation, he is in constant involvement with patients from all walks of life. He also enjoys providing care to those who are apprehensive or anxious about dental care. Dr. Carl looks forward to the optimistic look given by the children, adults, mothers, fathers and their families once they have conquered their fear of dentistry. Dr. Carl pledges himself as a dentist to his patients, as he will work directly with his patients to build their confidence by restoring their smiles.

 

          Dr. Carl returns home after practicing several years in Boston, Hanover, and Cape Cod, Massachusetts where he completed continuing education courses with the Massachusetts Dental Society. Dr. Carl continues to stay updated in the field of dentistry by visiting dental conferences held around the country. He believes in educating patients on conservative and atraumatic management of dental decay, proper oral hygiene at home, and most importantly keeping his patients out of pain.

 

           Dr. Carl started working at the young age of 14 at the Bonsack Kroger as a cashier and always knew customer service was a pride of his. When not in the dental clinic, you can find Dr. Carl competing in CrossFit competitions, playing with his pets Lily Pup and Socks the cat, and trying new restaurants with his wife.
